Out-of-State Students

Out-of-state students can take advantage of Georgia Virtual School (GaVS) classes. Students outside of Georgia must first check with their local school about taking any GaVS courses and get appropriate permissions before beginning the approval process. After completing the course, the local school accepts the responsibility to include the grade in the student’s transcript. If an out-of-state student registers for a class requiring a Georgia Milestones End of Course Assessment (EOC), the student will take the final exam for the course.

How to Register as an Out-of-State Student

  1. Create your GaVS student account.
  2. Log in to your GaVS student account.
  3. Submit course requests.
  4. Your course request(s) will be reviewed and approved by the GaVS out-of-state facilitator. If additional information or documentation is needed, the Georgia Virtual out-of-state facilitator will contact you via email.
  5. Login and pay your tuition and fees for your course(s).

GaVS does not award course credit. Local school approval prior to enrollment is imperative, so the GaVS course grade can be transcribed onto the student’s official high school transcript.
