At GaTutor we understand the importance of flexibility and convenience in your busy schedule. You’ll find it easy and simple to sign up for tutoring sessions that take place outside regular school hours. You can schedule a tutoring session up to two hours prior to your requested start time. This ensures that you can get the help you need when you need it, while giving your tutor a chance to prepare for your time together.

Participation is open to all Georgia public school students in grades 9-12 who are seeking free online tutoring services. Middle school students enrolled in high school courses are not eligible to participate in GaTutor.
K-8 tutoring through AmeriCorps Math and Reading Corps is available to targeted districts. These districts have been contacted by the Georgia Department of Education with additional information.
All of our tutors are certified experts in their respective content areas, dedicated to engaging and supporting students in the online learning environment. They bring a unique passion for education and utilize a diverse range of resources to enhance the learning experience.

All tutoring sessions will occur within Zoom’s secure online platform. To ensure safety and accountability, all sessions are recorded and securely saved. This approach allows us to maintain the quality of instruction and provide a valuable resource for both students and guardians.
Points to note for Zoom:
- Students DO NOT need a Zoom account to join a tutoring session.
- Sessions can be joined from a desktop application (Windows or Mac), mobile app, or a web browser.
- Students can join tutoring sessions from a web browser without downloading/installing Zoom.
- Downloading and installing Zoom can be completed before joining. Otherwise, students will be prompted to download and install Zoom when clicking a join link.
- We strongly recommend joining a test meeting to familiarize yourself with Zoom. Take this opportunity to test your audio, video, and device settings.
Pre-registration is not required for eligibility in our program. Every student will find a dedicated link on their SLDS Student Portal or GaConnects dashboard, enabling them to seamlessly schedule tutoring sessions. This user-friendly process ensures that students can access the support they need without any unnecessary administrative hurdles.
No. Students must use an email address that can receive outside emails. Many schools and districts block external emails from being received.
