Georgia Virtual School offers state-funded courses to Georgia students as a part of their regular school day. Students can take up to one carnegie unit of courses as a part of their regular school day. However, space is limited and local approvers must approve classes before students are enrolled in courses. For public and private school students, local approvers are located within their schools. For home school students, a GAVS facilitator acts as the local approver. Approvers are prompted via email to approve their students.
In addition, GA Virtual School offers a tuition-based after school and summer program. Students may take courses each semester outside of their school schedule. Courses cost $300 per 1/2 carnegie unit. As with the state funded program, local approvers must approve classes before students are enrolled in the class. Also students will be placed in their classes only after payment has been received.
