Georgia Virtual School offers a wide variety of core curricular, AP, and elective courses, each meeting QCC/GPS or College Board standards. Courses are offered in both block and semester formats.

 EOCT Information

Georgia requires an End of Course Test upon completion of both semesters of the following courses:  9th Lit/Comp, American Lit/Comp, Biology, Physical Science, Geometry, Informal Geometry, Math I, Math II, US History, Economics, AP Microeconomics*, AP Macroeconomics*, AP US History*

*An EOCT is required for these courses only if they are being used to satisfy the Georgia Economics or US History requirements.

   
 Advanced Placement Courses

Georgia Virtual School offers 20 Advanced Placement courses to students in the state. These college-level courses, authorized by the College Board, prepare students for the national Advanced Placement exams adminstered in May of each year. Many colleges and universities award students college credit for passing scores on these exams.

Studies show that students who take rigorous Advanced Placement courses in high school are prepared to do well in college. With a wide-range of offerings, college-bound students can find the right course to suit their interests and abilities.

 Scheduling Choices

GAVS courses can be scheduled as a part of the regular school day or outside of the school day. Some schools may choose to schedule a course on the student's regular school schedule but then allow that course to be taken on the student's own time outside of the school building.

There are many options for course scheduling. In addition, there are many options in terms of scheduling and course start dates.

   
 GHGST Information

All students seeking a Georgia high school diploma must pass the Georgia High School Graduation Tests (GHSGT) in four content areas as well as the Georgia High School Writing Assessment. These assessments ensure that students qualifying for a diploma have mastered essential core academic content and skills.
